Bio
M.D. Poole
Author of the fabulous novels, Worldly Goods, Bergdorf Goodman, Just Across the Street in New York City, The Dentist, Transatlantic, Lucky Larsen, Dogs Never Lie, and Verna Ware's Long Way Home, Poole also has written four detective novels, Cowtown Crime, Cowtown Corpse, Cowtown Cop, and Cowtown Coffin, featuring Detective Frank "Pink" Bettman.
Poole has cookbooks Treats from Sweet-Tooth Lolly and Pielicious Treats from Sweet-Tooth Lolly. Her poetry is available under the title Children of Eve. She has authored the short story collection Sundog Stories, as well as Hogan the Horse Bedtime Tales for children. Six of Poole's plays have been produced off-Broadway and in regional theater. Poole has over ten years' experience writing scripts for television and radio advertising, as well as working with Barnes & Noble Bookstores, New York City Opera at Lincoln Center (on stage and off), and Van Cleef & Arpels at Bergdorf Goodman. Poole has owned and managed three businesses, Private Drawers, Barkley Dogs, and Word Doctor.
Dr. Poole earned her PhD in English Language and Literature from TCU. She served as the director of the Deep South Writers Conference while teaching at Southwestern Louisiana University prior to taking a position at the State University of New York FIT in New York City. She lives in France. Her interests include ballet, travel, quilting, and dogs.
