Bio
Reporting at Texas Southern University is written by Associate Professor Michael Berryhill for journalism students. He is the new chair of journalism for the School of Communication beginning in fall 2010.
This blog began for the advanced reporting class at UH in spring 2010. It is being used for the advanced reporting class in Spring 2011 (Jour 332).
Berryhill began teaching at UH in fall 2006 after more than 25 years as a newspaper and magazine writer and editor. He has written news, features and done investigative reporting for several publications, including the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the Houston Chronicle, Houston City Magazine, the Houston Press, the New Republic and the New York Times Sunday magazine.
He has written a book about Texas prisons which will be published by the University of Texas Press in fall, 2011.
