Bio
“It’s on the strength of observation and reflection that one finds a way. So we must dig and delve unceasingly.” Claude Monet
My interest in the history of art began as a child, through my constant drawings of mummy’s and dinosaurs. Born and raised in San Francisco, I was exposed to many museums and colorful cultures and would visit these museums with my mother and be mesmerized with all the artifacts and especially with the paintings. I remember being interested in how they were made and why. I also was fascinated by how they smelled; it would somehow help me understand the piece of art or artifact.
My fervor for the arts intensified with my first art history class in 1999. I felt as if I was hit with a brick. My zeal poured out into my social life as I attended museums and art galleries. I took personal trips to Paris and Italy specifically for the art and architecture works I had been studying on slides. In 2008 I transferred to California State University Northridge to major in Art History. I have studied with Dr. Betty Ann Brown and Dr. Jean Luc Bordeaux, and was a teacher’s assistant for Dr. Bordeaux in 2010. My double major in 2010 in communication studies has only fortified my education in art.
I intend to make art an even greater part of my life and turn my passion, intuition and education into a career. As a current student, one of my strong suits is my diverse background through my personal and professional experience throughout my life.
