Bio
Michelle Carrera has drifted through titles like constellations: grief worker, death doula, mutual aid schemer, soil slinger, forest hermit, writer. Born in Puerto Rico and returned to let the land remember them, Michelle writes essays and fiction that let grief be strange, death be holy, and liberation be cosmically queer. Their work honors seeds as ancestors, collapse as compost, and emergence as a sacred practice. Michelle is the creator of Grief and Liberation, a storytelling ecosystem for collective grief work, and serves as project manager for VINE Sanctuary.
