Bio
My name is Michael Howard Wyatt. I have been traveling and teaching in South Korea, Thailand and Dubai. I am a Kiwi Teacher back again in Thailand teaching and writing.
So far I have written three novels which is my learn by doing phase. The skill of handling 50,000 words is very structurally challenging and so the finished works remain fermenting in files in my computer. I believe I'm a work in progress or an irresistible force meeting immoveable objects. I have just completed another ambitious novel and that is to write about the Kurds or Kurdish people this year. My first Novel in 2017, Brush Strokes Vignettes (BSV) explored the use of Drones in a painting venture, the 2nd Novel 2018 was a collection of spiritual happenings in 'Walks with Jesus'WwJ. Each novel is written within the 30 days of November for the NaNoWriMo writing challenge. During the midpoint of writing the novel WwJs my friend Robert died. Therefore,I got to reflect on the impermanence of life and how everyday we encounter moments which are loaded with possibilities. In 2019 I embarked on writing 'Blackout Threepeat' about the possibility of the All Blacks rugby team performing a third win of the World Rugby Cup. However they didn't follow the script I had in mind so after a month of research I shelved that idea and took up the challenge of writing about 'The Kurds Endgame? KPEG' Each novel is an intense experience and I value being able to continue learning and growing and developing the thoughts I have in Novel Writing. So, in a sense they are still fermenting as I keep bending the rules and making little shortcuts and including a certain percentage of quotes which I call springboards for my own writing. When my own expression of words grows and I begin to formulate my own style and so dictate the shape of each novel and 'up'the percentages more then I will truly be able to say I have the confidence to test the market. I don't think I'm even come close to that yet but it has given me a hunger to read and reflect more and blend experience and descriptive work and test the waters. I want to get beyond on the cautious 'toe dipping'. I hope during next few years.2020/2021 will be my Harvest years. Its just a nice feeling to be able to call myself an emerging Writer' knowing that one day I can get ready to submit my work for some closer scrutiny and criticism. Freedom I know comes in unexpected ways. As of this week I am no longer teaching at IFB which ups the tempo for writing.
