Bio
I am a retired teacher, a political junkie, and I love to cook. I find reading non fiction as exciting as the latest John Grisham novel. Life actions produce a myriad of consequences, many unintended, but that is what makes reading history so interesting.
Some historians say that one cannot adequately interpret the effects of events until 20 to 30 years after an event. Of course there is merit in saying that we cannot know exactly the impact of a current event will be, but history is being made every day. The aftermath of any event is seen immediately, but perhaps not fully understood for many years. A tornado destroys a town in a few seconds. A hurricane rips a path across an entire region and we can now immediatley see the results. People are immediately affected, but it is that individual story of a person or a family or a community that may show up years later that gives a fuller picture of the event. I am one who forms opinions quickly and I do not wait long to express them. I hope that someone might read this blog and find something useful in the reading of it.
