Bio
Hello! Welcome to my blog about orchid. The orchids I am intrested in are the small ones, miniature orchids. Gems from the cloudforests.
My name is Pontus and I live in Gothenburg, Sweden.
I grow all my orchids in a big vivaria. All the orchids I photograph I have grown them until they flowerin my vivaria or In Situ.
My vivaria is about 150 cm high, 185 cm wide and 90 cm deep. I have 3 Osram Dulux 80 w lamps.
Also a rain/fog system from Dartfrog.co.uk. I only use Osmosis water.
I mainly grow my plants on Xaxim, Rhododendron branches, Oak branches. I prefer natural material.
I have a fan that draws in cold air from outside. So in winter I normaly get a low temp of 9 to 12°C.
Little bit harder to cool down in summer when there are some hot weeks. Then I normally put in 6 1,5 Liter PET bottles that I have had in the freezer. Put a fan towards them and thats enough. Worked so far. Just that I have very little space in the freezer in summer as there are always 6 PET bottles there.
