Bio
Throughout the course of my life, my primary identity in the eyes of the world has been that of a piano player. However, the actual time I have spent playing my favorite instrument has been relatively small in comparison to the rather large amount of time I have spent writing music, lyrics, plays, poetry, and prose. Although I have been obligated to invest precious time and energy on meaningless and mundane activities such as eating, sleeping, and working for a living; I have often kept those activities to a healthy minimum in order to focus more fully on developing my special gifts. For obvious reasons, this has worked against me. I have had to finally conceded that my gifts and talents alone are insufficient to compensate for a lifelong lack of practicality and prudence. But, like many artists, I have needed to find ways of practicing propriety that will not extinguish the creative fire that burns incessantly within me. And because I have recently found myself drawn into a realm of existence that has completely disavowed the authenticity of any such artistic or musical gifts, and because I almost lost my true self in the midst of such total invalidation and violation; it is now more essential than ever that I seek a balance in my life that is not only painfully practical, but at once beautiful, so that my talents will no longer be seen as an excuse for wild self-abuse and debauchery; but rather as all the more reason to take the best care of myself that I, as an artist, can.
