Bio
I am defined as an addiction councillor /specialist? writer. i was led into this place naturally as alcoholism defined my childhood. My parents both committed suicide before I was 12, because of alcohol related depression, anxiety, and addiction
I write about addiction and the nightmare it takes us all to. How lonely this place is for those who inhabit this dark land.I write about the effects and loneliness that it produces and how frequently it leads to homelessness. During my career I worked in 'cardboard city' and discovered that huge proportion of people who end up in cardboard boxes are alcoholics.Alcoholism frequently leads into the nightmare that is despair and on from there to suicide.
I also dance, do yoga everyday and walk a lot. Some days I think I'm mad.I love music Adele, Bach, Beethoven, Amy Whitehouse, Miles Davis, Nina Simone. My taste spans all genre.
I'm very lucky I live in Hay on Wye which is beautiful with bookshops, swans, ducks restaurants and coffee houses.
I have three children all of whom are now grown up. This has given me the time to write my novel. It has been a labour of love and a struggle. It's rather like having a baby in many ways. You look at it. you watch it grow, and eventually after 6 rewrites you let go and find it's way in the world. You constantly worry about it.The characters are as real as the people you meet and know in every day life. After awhile they embed themselves in your being and that is where they live.
MY PEN NAME IS MOLLIE BACH. My novel about alcoholism is called Paradise Lost
