Bio
I am graduate student in the University of South Florida's Master of Library and Information Science program and will earn my degree in Spring of 2013. I previously received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree summa cum laude from USF with a specialization in painting. As a Library Services Assistant for the Hernando County Public Library System, I have performed numerous Story-times, created art-based programs for kids and teens, and am using my artistic skills to paint furniture and murals for the West Hernando Branch Library. I am greatly interested in Youth Services and hope to officially work in this capacity someday. My main career goal is to promote literacy and an appreciation for all the arts in children who might not otherwise be exposed to its wealth of ideas and creativity. As a new Graduate Assistant for one of my final semesters at USF, I hope to further expand her professional understanding of libraries and to offer a unique contribution to the Master’s program.
