Bio
I am a desert dweller in the Southern California Mojave Desert, who is happily sharing a beautiful life with my man LeeRoy , our dogs, and an adopted desert tortoise, Sheldon. We are both passionate about our calling to service in the funeral profession, dedicated to helping others through their darkest hours...I find myself in a new role, as a writer. LeeRoy is semi-retired; but we understand that old funeral directors never really retire, they just die. They are often a familiar and welcome sight, a friendly face in times of sorrow. Reliable.
I also have two beautiful daughters, who are all grown up now, and two grandsons, who I love with every fiber of my being. Aside from my blogging, I was a feature columnist for an iconic funeral service publication, "Mortuary Management." It has been a thrill and an honor to be able to earn the respect and attention gained here from such an engaged audience and a growing flock of followers. Without this blog I could not have known that there is yet a world of potential to discover, right here in myself... and outside--- a world where I might be able to make a difference, still somehow.
UPDATE: LeeRoy died and I am so lost. I gave up doing everything we loved doing because he took half of me with him when he left this world. So, now, I am trying to figure out how to live again, in the abyss of grief. Trying to make my way alone, in a pandemic, without a compass or guide. Without experience. Without him.
