Read on ;)
Cassiopeia Lancaster is a Freelance and Creative Writer and Relationship Counsellor and Blogger. She mentors people to build self-esteem and confidence, improve their quality of life, and have better relationships using research-based topics, Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP), and using her experience as a registered nurse. She is currently working on three novels.
The idea to blog started when I realized I could help people with my writing on Yahoo Answers. I usually answer questions about relationships, health, parenting, dating, and marriage. I made my own blog on 2008 on Blogspot during Christmas vacation, but I stopped because I was studying for the last subject to graduate.
I've always loved to write and in nursing school, that's when I began to explore about writing medical articles. A year later, I studied writing articles in a normal format.
I once worked for a year as a technical writer and medical blogger for a software company.
When I decided to pursue my writing, I quit my job and started my adventure as a freelance writer. At the same time, I was given a chance to pursue my other interests such as singing. I attended a musical theater workshop on April 2014. It's one of my best and happiest experience. I love to do it again.
The year 2014 are the most productive and challenging year for me, I know what I want and love, but I was really having a hard time getting opportunities. At the same time, I made several mistakes. I'm not going to make excuses and say I was stressed, still suffering from a heartbreak, and I'm trying to find myself again, but those things are true. This year, I'm trying to make amends with everyone I've hurt, I've apologized, I prayed, I confessed, I'm doing my best to behave and to stick with the plan, and I'm trying to make things work.
I started reading and learning about personalities when I was 14 years old. When I got in College, I studied and tested the different personality types and had my classmates to do it too, so I could compare and contrast.
You're probably thinking what am I talking about when I keep mentioning lovemap in my posts. Lovemap is a word I encountered from Keith Ablow's novel, Psychopath in December 2011. I read different books and research about the topic. It was easy for me to understand lovemap because that is also the time where I found my lovemap.
The unfinished novels I'm working on is called The Guardian Program, Kismet, and Dead and Alive. There was a first novel I'm working on and I'm saving it for last, but it's the most important for me. The unfinished scripts I have are called Dream, and the other one is for The Guardian Program. As for now, I'm improving my English and writing skill by writing short stories, flash fictions, and giving critiques in Scribophile. It's been a lot of help.
I studied Screenwriting in Writing Booth Camp for a while using my novel The Guardian Program. It was so much fun working on the script and my mentor was so helpful and thorough.
While growing up, I took care of several dogs and puppies. We sold some of them to our neighbors and friends. Now, we have four Labrador Retrievers, one Bichon Frise, and two stray dogs at home. To tell you the truth, I've taken care of 13 puppies, because one of our dog gave birth to 9 puppies and the other gave birth to 4 puppies. It was fun and challenging to the whole family.
I always dreamed of having my own black cat and black horse. I love to name my cat Kibo. It's a Japanese idiom meaning hopeful or wish. As for my horse, I'll name him Gallop, just because there's a type of heart beat sound, called gallop. ;)
When I was 14, my mom also taught me how to bake. So far, her best recipe that I love are Blueberry Cheesecake and the dessert marshmallow with chocolate and nuts. I don't really know what's the dessert called. I think she made it up.
Cassiopeia Lancaster is a pen name. I picked Cassiopeia because of the constellation from the Greek mythology Queen Cassiopeia. I picked Lancaster from Lady Marian of Lancaster from Robin Hood.
I write to make a sincere human connection and to be accepted and understood. I want to understand other people as well, make friends and also to help other people with my writing.
I grew up as a woman full of innocence, ideals, and naivete. I'm grateful for having experiences that had hurt me enough to grow, to lose my ideals in people due to the bullying and abuse, lose some major part of my innocence, some ideals, kindness, and heart when I've fallen in love with D. I've become more of an intellectual and academe person, rather than a believer in almost everything like Mulder. My motto when I graduated in College, reverberates in me, after all these years.
Life is not exactly what it seems.
I want to share a much more important lesson for me.
Love is not just a feeling, and a responsibility, it is also a wild, intense and tenacious freak of nature. You need to learn and understand it to tame it, and make good use of it in your life. I'm so grateful, I've been broken and hurt enough to finally know how. ;)
