Bio
The Present: An entrepreneur, startup investor and podcast host, she's the creative mind, and numbers, behind Let’s Talk Money, Canada's first national financial literacy campaign to deliver the straight goods to Canadian Startups.
The Past: In the game herself for over 20 years now, Taunya’s managed a $4 million, early-stage, loan portfolio for Futurpreneur SK (formerly, Canadian Youth Business Foundation). She also launched The Kolo Project, a Saskatchewan-based non-profit initiative fostering collaboration amongst the province’s entrepreneurial stakeholders.
Before moving to SK, Taunya tirelessly advocated on behalf of 2,500 Powerhouse Int’l Members, an Alberta-based organization she founded, committed to providing education, peer-advisory boards, mentorship and advocacy to early-stage entrepreneurs. Not one to shy away from adventure, she also had the rare privilege to assist two Canadian giants, Bell Canada and Shaw Communications, in their early startup ventures as they expanded into Western Canada and North America respectively as their Manager of Business Development.
The Future: Taunya looks forward to working with solution providers across the country in building on the momentum that’s been generated thus far, and in having a greater impact on the future of Canadian Startups through meaningful conversations, education and empowerment related to numeracy and financial capability.
