Bio
As the newly elected Secretary General of the National Association of Plateau State Students (NAPSS), BASUG Chapter for the year 2023/2024, I am grateful for your mandate and support. I appreciate this opportunity to serve and contribute to the welfare and progress of the student community.
Our vision as the new executive committee is to build an inclusive and vibrant association that champions the interests and well-being of Plateau State students in BASUG. We aim to create an enabling environment that fosters academic excellence, personal development, and a sense of unity among students.
To accomplish our vision, we have outlined the following missions:
1. Representation and Advocacy: We will represent the interests of Plateau State students effectively at all levels of the university administration, government, and other relevant stakeholders. We will advocate for policies and initiatives that promote the welfare and success of our students.
2. Academic Support and Enhancement: We recognize the importance of academic success, and we are committed to providing support systems that enhance learning outcomes. We will facilitate study groups, organize tutorials, and partner with faculty and academic departments to ensure that students receive the necessary assistance and resources.
3. Personal Development and Skills Enhancement: We believe in the holistic development of students. We will organize workshops, seminars, and skill acquisition programs to equip students with the necessary skills beyond the classroom. This will include leadership development, entrepreneurship, career guidance, and other relevant areas.
4. Welfare and Wellness: We prioritize the welfare and well-being of Plateau State students. We will work towards improving the living conditions on campus, advocating for affordable accommodation, creating avenues for mental health support, and organizing health and wellness campaigns.
5. Collaboration and Networking: We understand the power of collaboration, and we will seek partnerships both within and outside the university. We will collaborate with other student bodies, organizations, and associations for the benefit of our members. We will also foster networking opportunities to connect students with potential employers, mentors, and industry experts.
6. Transparent Communication: We value clear and open communication with our members. We will establish effective communication channels to ensure that students are well-informed about association activities, opportunities, and relevant information.
We are committed to working relentlessly towards achieving these missions and ensuring that Plateau State students at BASUG have a memorable and impactful experience during their academic journey. Together, with your support, we will strive for excellence and promote the collective welfare of our student community.
