Bio
My display name says it all really... a person who stammers (PWS) and is proud of that fact.
I am in my 20's (that's all you need to know) and make up a very small part of the 1% of PWS living in the UK. For every 4 men that stammer, there's 1 female, so when I say very small, I mean seriously small.
I am a minority, within a minority... cool right!
This blog is a space for me to share my experiences growing up and living with my stammer in the hope I can help just 1 person to view their stammer differently and maybe even grow to accept it. Acceptance is a huge theme that runs through my articles and although everyone's journey to acceptance is different, I may be able to provide or illuminate stepping stones to further someone else's journey.
A little about me...
I live in Leicestershire and since October 2017 qualified as a Training and Assessment officer delivering Apprenticeships to all ages within the workplace within the topic of business and leadership and management up to level 5. Before that I was a kitchen manager and had worked in the hospitality industry within restaurants and hotels working my way up through the kitchen ranks, straight out of school. I attended college and gained my qualifications in hospitality and catering and went onto gain an undergrad in Business management.
This year I am taking on the challenge of a Master's degree in Psychology, something I hope will enable me to go on and gain a doctorate in clinical Psychology and work with PWS and acceptance in the future.
