Bio
I am a resident of Southern California. While growing up I attended church because of my parents and later to be with my friends. I was taught to be good and to help people but by my senior year in high school a close friend was clearly a better student and also kinder to other people. Yet, he was an agnostic; this left me questioning the meaning of being a Christian since he was living a better human life than I was.
When I was in graduate school I met a group of Christians who spoke about God's purpose. Some of what they emphasized was man created in God's image (Gen. 1:26) and man placed in front of the tree of life (Gen. 2:8-9) to receive God as his life and thereby be able to express God through humanity. Although man fell into sin and death, God came in the man Jesus to die for man's redemption, solving all the problems between man and God. After death Jesus rose to impart life into (to regenerate) all who believe into Him, that is, all who receive Him. By this redemption and regeneration, God can carry out His desire to live in and be expressed through man.
There are many points of correspondence between the statement of God's purpose in Genesis 1–2 and the consummation of God's revelation in Revelation 21–22. The tree of life and the river of life are both in these two portions of God's word. These two portions of the Bible also have gold, pearl, and precious stones, as well as a bride.
