Bio
Hi, I'm Nysia and I have been on this homestead journey for a long time, only I just solidified my goals late last year. My husband and I embarked on our homestead 6 year plan to sustainability last October.
I am a mother of 6 children, all but one who are grown adults running their own lives. My youngest is in Jr. High. with 6 years till graduation (hence our 6 year plan). I work full time in a 9-5 job, and have been backyard homesteading with my family for about 6 years now. It has been a trial and error process which I hope to relay to folks here and perhaps help you avoid some of our pitfalls (ie., rabbits).
I am active in my local emergency preparedness group helping others learn to be more self reliant and prepared. I teach classes on canning, raising backyard chickens, how to create your 72 hour kit and more.
My current learning process will revolve around building our retirement home/homestead cabin from scratch, how to garden in a new climate zone, and becoming and orchardist.
