Bio
When I’m not riding my bike, planning rides or fettling on my bikes, I’m writing about the banking industry and other stuff.
I don’t exactly remember when I got my first bike but I’m cycling since I was a small boy. I’m using the bike for getting around in London as well as for touring. Usually once a year my wife and I are doing a cycling holiday. We take our sleeping bags and our tent and are on our bikes for two to three weeks. We’ve been in Italy, France, Sweden, Norway and Wales.
The longest and most impressive bike trip I’ve done was in 2005 with my father. For three months we cycled across the United States. We started in Charlottesville, Virginia and ended in Portland, Oregon.
It was one of the best things I’ve ever done in my life.
While living in London, I discovered the joy of night rides and long-distance riding. I rode Paris-Brest-Paris in 2015 and London-Edinburgh-London in 2017. Between September 2014 and May 2018, I also was on the “Randonneur Round the Year” treadmill.
The series broke because of a little mishap on the Brompton, which ended in an open patella fracture.
