Bio
Sam is a visual artist and writer who takes a multi-disciplined approach to creative works, from filmmaking to complex interactive digital content. He’s presently based in Sydney and works under the studio name Latchkey. Recent projects include cultural works for Sydney Opera House including their multi-language tours film, video narratives for the Welcome Centre and creating the SOH’s presence on the Google Cultural Institute (published on 27th April 2016).
Previously Sam spent over 12 years (2001-14) at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, eight of them as creative director of Strategic Development for the Innovation Division, where he led projects that identified the Australian Broadcasting Corporation as a major innovator in digital content. These include The Opera House Project, Bluebird AR, Gallipoli the first day, ABC iView and the Four Corners Broadband Editions which were all multi-award winning, including an inaugural AFI, Awgies, AIMIAs etc.
Sam's been a mentor at X Media Lab, as well as a guest lecturer and speaker at numerous conferences, universities and events, from the Australian Film Television and Radio School to Australian Screenwriters Conferences and the Melbourne Writers Festival.
He is a writer, director, producer, editor, graphic designer, compositor, executive producer and project manager, having learnt that being a digital creative is synonymous with specialising in multiple fields of expertise.
