Bio
Orfeia takes its name and inspiration from the ancient Thracian myth of Orpheus, the legendary originator of musical storytelling and symbol of musical journeys. Under the direction of its founder, internationally-renowned singer Tatiana Sarbinska, Orfeia is dedicated to preserving and promoting the traditional women's music of Eastern Europe.
From the rich variety of musical styles from Bulgaria’s many folklore regions, Orfeia’s repertoire radiates out to embrace Russian, Georgian, Croatian, Serbian and Sephardic musical traditions. The harmonies will enchant you, the dissonances will surprise you, and the rhythms will amaze you.
