Bio
I am an Afro Cuban percussionist (timbales, congas, more) and jazz drummer. I enjoy being very active in the Latin music scene in Portland, and have been since the beginning, when I co-founded the first Latin Jazz and Salsa band in Portland, Montuno. Later I led Manteca and was a member of several other leading Portland Latin bands.
Now I lead Pa'lante, a cookin' 10 piece Latin jazz and Salsa band. We play in clubs in the Northwest, and at festivals, private parties, and weddings.
I host Thursday Night Descarga, a Latin Jazz show on KMHD Radio 81.9fm every Thursday from 7 to 9 pm.
I also host Jazz Lives, a jazz radio show on Portland's KBOO 90.7fm.
