Bio
I was born on a Mediterranean island in the mid-1960's. The son of parents & brother to two sisters, I was given my first camera, a Kodak ‘Instamatic', at the age of 9. I took a lot of pleasure in shooting anything and anyone, just to make the disposable flashbulbs fire and pop. I was soon offered £5 by my Uncle if I could capture a wildlife photo. I didn't do it, he never paid me. I suspect he just wanted me out of the room. I bought my first digital camera when I was Forty-Four years old. It wasn’t hard. Over the years I've tried to take good care of my cameras. However, I’ve dropped them, tripped and fell on them, I once used my most expensive camera to break my fall . . . up a step . . . and I actually did that twice! Both times I was wearing flip-flops . . . note to self . . . I also watched it fall off the back of a toilet door . . . it dropped 1 metre onto a concrete floor . . . once.
I’ve worked as an industrial photographer, and most memorably, in sales for a commercial photographer who fired me when I landed my first contract.
I’ve not won any awards but I have exhibited internationally and been published in a number of magazines in Asia and the UK.
I have a dog named Molly.
Throughout my diverse photography career one constant that has remained unchanged is my belief that you can find art anywhere. Anywhere!
For some time now, I have been developing a love of landscape photography, with a particular focus on experimenting with long-exposure techniques. Although I don’t feel limited to sweeping vistas of ocean scenes, or dramatic wildernesses. I view the whole world as ‘The Landscape’; a jigsaw puzzle of infinite pixels and pieces. Sometimes my images may include hundreds of these pieces, other times a single solitary pixel will stand out & demand my attention.
That said, I now wish to focus on shooting and selling visual art photography full time.
I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy creating it.
