Bio
A lifetime enthusiast for adult education and the impact it can make on our lives. I worked for the WEA many years in the West Midlands and latterly in London and the South West regions.
I was an early convert to 'student centred learning' and adult education's capacity to enable disadvantaged adults to express their creativity and ambitions, individual and collective. As a curriculum leader I was particularly active around shop steward education, UNISON return to learn and health education.
In addition I like the 'great outdoors' and recently did the GR20, a long distance trek across the Corsican mountains, as well as long distance walks round the Alps and in the Pyrenees. As well as friends and family, I have a life long interest in politics and history particularly how they can relate to adult education. Finally I'm an Aston Villa fan but with well managed expectations.
