Bio
You just never know what might show up on my blog. As the name implies it is about the stuff of life just like Spilt Milk. My Mom didn’t like it when I spilled milk but I’ve learned over the years to let the milk go and not get upset about the little stuff.
I’ve also learned that talking about “stuff” helps reduce the dilemma and so, here I talk about stuff. Everyday events spark thought and contemplation. Special events in the community, the country or the world may strike a chord and get me talking. Sometimes it's about people in my life or circumstances, sometimes about my garden, sometimes about a book or a political issue. Always it's about something I am passionate about.
In my business, River of Hope Enterprises (www.riverofhopeenterprises.com), I work as a Writer, Minister, Spiritual Director and
My family is grown, and I have four grandkids who thrill my heart.
Circumstances of life have made "family" difficult. You can read more about that on the about page of my website.
Mental health is a field where I worked for almost 25 years and where I still do some consulting and training.
Journaling is one of my great loves and I teach about it and have written a book.
I am deeply spiritual and while I fellowship in a United Church my bent is toward mysticism. Occasionally I get to fill the pulpit as a supply minister in some local churches. Authors and teachers like Richard Rohr, Caroline Myss, Cynthia Bourgault and Sue Monk Kidd are among my current mentors.
Some of my soap box items include mental health and suicide prevention and bereavement. Social justice is an ongoing passion. Spirituality is my heart.
Now that I approach retirement, I still want to work but chose to limit my efforts to the things I love. Supporting people in ministry is something I love. Life’s milestones need strong support and compassion and so I consider it a great honour to walk alongside families in both sorrow and joy.
Woven into all of this is my love of writing. Trained as a Journalist I worked in the field as a freelance news writer for many years, I have a great love for writing. This blog was a new beginning for me as I honed my skills. For now, it will be an effort I make a couple of times a week as I continue to work on my next book.
I’ll look forward to your comments.
