Bio
I’m passionate about work, particularly with reference to how work is changing: the paradigms created by globalization, disintermediation and the web; the implications of virtualization, service orientation and commoditization; why publishing and search and fulfillment and conversation are the only “applications” we may need; the terrors of poorly thought out IPR and DRM; the need to avoid walled gardens of my own making; how children now teach me about work; the socializing of information, how it creates value by being shared, how it is enriched, how it is corrupted. How information and people behave and what we can learn from them.
A few quotes I live by;
"There is more happiness in giving than in receiving." Acts, 20:35
“Do something for somebody every day for which you do not get paid.” Albert Schweitzer
"Our deeds determine us, as much as we determine our deeds." George Eliot
"To do more for the world than the world does for you - that is success." Henry Ford
"Do all the good you can, and make as little fuss about it as possible." Charles Dickens
"The more I help others to succeed, the more I succeed." Ray Kroc
