Bio
I’ve been active in and around Australian politics for near on thirty years.
I’ve observed it up close from many angles - working in Federal and State government at including political and Departmental level, from Opposition, for a political party, in all types of campaigns and lobbying paid and unpaid, including NGO, union and corporate environments. I’ve been involved in every local election campaign - that means Federal, NSW and local government since 1980, and seen close hand the effect of the outcomes.
I’m fascinated by political numbers and trends, which explains my study of statistics and economics. There are lots of patterns and insights in numbers, and I’ve seen blogs where some excellent electoral and political analysis is done. So here begins my earnest attempt to add to the discourse.
I will, from time to time, digress into more prose than analysis - likely with a progressive (but not uncritical) focus. I welcome constructive feedback, and respectful discourse.
