Hello all (tiny and tall),
My name is Portia,
This tiny project first started at University. I dotted the tiny figures around campus in different food scenarios. The aim of this project was to encourage people to look a bit closer at the food they were eating and hopefully make people laugh.
After University I started to take photographs with them, using Instagram as a platform to share the snaps. Story lines then started to develop alongside personalities for each figure. I then decided to start a blog writing from the perspectives of the different characters.
Each character is based on somebody that I know or that I have met along the way. I decided to write from different characters perspectives each time so that I could address an array of topics such as - food, mental health, social pressures, travel and now - nursing!
After traveling for 4 years, living in LA, Hawaii, Australia and New Zealand - it was time to return back home to England.
I am currently developing the characters into an illustrated children's book as well as a photograph comic book for people of all ages and I am studying to become a children's nurse.
