Bio
I began making quilts in the 1980's and continued until about 1998 when "life" intervened. When I began quilting, I could find only one book for information - patterns and techniques, Margeurite Ickis' "The Standard Book of Quilt Making and Collecting". I began with traditional patterns - my first quilt was a combination of trapunto blocks and Carolina lily blocks. I evolved into making quilts of my own design, eventually incorporating acrylic paint and lots of beads.
I resumed quilting in 2011. A lot changed from 1998 to 2011. Quilting techniques, like machine quilting and using a variety mediums in addition to fabric, became more common. Equipment, like sewing "computers" and long arm machines, evolved. And the price of fabric - now that was a shock!
Since my hand quilting could never achieve the finest detail, I'm especially delighted to be machine quilting on my home machine.
I will be posting my quilts, beginning with the more recent ones. ENJOY!
