Bio
Rachel Wayne is a writer, content strategist, and digital accessibility expert based in Orlando, Florida. She earned a Master’s degree in Media Studies and Visual Anthropology from the University of Florida, where she worked closely with the Director of Communications at UF’s largest college. In a nascent publishing office, she wore multiple hats: digital content manager, social media manager, public information officer, and staff writer/associate editor for the award-winning Ytori magazine.
She has since worked with a variety of organizations as a strategic communicator, content creator, and UX writer. In 2019, she decided to turn her passion for storytelling into a new endeavor in the world of marketing. Drawing upon her background in journalism and performing arts, she launched StorySiren Studios, a content marketing and brand storytelling consultancy, and Lyra Creative Studios, a branding and visual communications agency for nonprofits and mission-driven enterprises.
Rachel's diverse experience includes:
• crafting copy and mapping content for T. Rowe Price's newly digitized application experience
• writing scripts and developing visual story concepts for a variety of clients, from local nonprofits to beverage wholesalers to security companies
• creating short campaign videos for a nonprofit that needed to express compelling messages on complex topics in less than 40 seconds
• auditing SaaS platforms' websites to find content that could be optimized and leveraged for better flow, conversion rates, and search engine rankings, then integrating the new/edited pages into a cohesive experience
Rachel is an active participant in the performing arts and writing communities and firmly believes in the power of story to elevate brands and win loyal customers. She previously directed a production agency, DreamQuilt, in Gainesville, Florida, before relocating to Orlando to pursue greater opportunities.
