Bio
Grace Newton is a Chinese adoptee and graduate student in Social Work, interested in issues related to adoption, race, identity formation, family preservation, and deinstitutionalization. Her blog, Red Thread Broken, has been used in university classrooms across the world, and discussed in several journals, podcasts, and books. Outside of her blog, Grace is a contributing author to two anthologies and two additional blogs. She has interned with Land of Gazillion Adoptees, was a section editor for Gazillion Voices Magazine (the first adoptee led adoption magazine), and co-founded her alma mater's transracial and transnational adoptee identity collective. She currently serves on the Advisory Council for the Korean American Adoptee and Adoptive Family Network (KAAN) Conference, where she has also participated on several panels, including a keynote panel.
