Bio
I am an orthodox Catholic (not to be confused with the Orthodox Churches, e.g. Russian Orthodox, Greek Orthodox). This means that I accept and believe all that the Catholic Church teaches. God blessed me long ago with a great love and admiration for the Catholic faith. That being said, the views and opinions in this blog are solely my own and do not reflect that of the Catholic Church.
There is an old saying: The Church is always in need of reform. This does not refer to the deposit of faith, something which comes from God Himself, but rather to those of us in the Church. I believe one area in need of reform at this time concerns single Catholics and their experience within the Church. This is particularly, though not exclusively, true of those singles who no longer meet the age requirement for the "young" adult ministry.
From my perspective, the term "single" includes anyone not married at this time. So if you're a divorced, widowed/widower, or never married Catholic, then you are a single Catholic.
Although this blog is written by a never married single Catholic, I think it has a lot of value for those in the other two states in life, i.e. the clergy and the married. There is an enormous amount of misinformation and assumptions made about single Catholics. I have spent over 8 years researching this topic, and I hope this blog will shed some much needed light on the subject. I also hope to show how investing a little time in this ever growing segment of the laity will benefit the Church in many ways , now and into the future.
