Bio
By the age of 55, I was officially obese, with high cholesterol, high blood pressure and on the cusp of type 2 diabetes. My doctor said that it was urgent to lose weight, but I did not know how (despite the hundreds of diet books I had read (and tried!).
I felt invisible, hopeless and desperate. Losing weight and getting fit, especially after 50 seemed impossible. After many years of trial and error, I discovered the nutrition and exercise plan I wish I had years ago.
Miraculously, my body responded and I lost close to a hundred pounds in under a year, getting leaner and stronger than I ever thought possible.
I also found that this same plan helped manage some of the worst symptoms of depression, without antidepressants. I have struggled with dysthymia and clinical depression all my life and the side effects of antidepressants only made things worse.
At the age of 60, I returned to school to become an American Academy of Personal Training-Certified Personal Trainer(AAPT-CPT), and a Certified Institute of Integrative Nutrition-Integrative Nutrition Health Coach(IIN-INHC).
My mission is to help people struggling with obesity and/or depression.
