Bio
I'm a 73-year-old native Chicagoan who has lived in Des Moines, Iowa since 1999. I'm also a retired Lutheran pastor who has served TALC and ELCA parishes in the suburbs of St. Louis, in rural and small-town Iowa, and an independent, confessional Lutheran congregation in Des Moines. For more than thirty years I have been the moderator of The Scrupe Group, an email support group for Christians who suffer from religious OCD. I am also a volunteer chaplain at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines. For a couple of decades, I have been a lay member of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, in which I was baptized and confirmed.
I also lived briefly in the Virginia suburbs of Washington, D.C. My hobbies include politics, history, reading, theology, writing, and astronomy. I'm a traditional Lutheran theologically, and an avid fan of the Blackhawks, Bears, and Cubs.
