Bio
I am a licensed clinical psychologist devoted to providing caring and comprehensive treatment and assessment of a wide range of concerns for children, adolescents and adults. I completed my training as a post-doctoral fellow/research associate in clinical psychology at Northwestern University Medical School. My specialization is in psychological and neuropsychological assessment and treatment of ADHD, learning disabilities and depression.
Additional treatment expertise and publications are in anxiety disorders, including panic disorder, agoraphobia, social anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorder. I have maintained a private practice in Santa Barbara since 1990 and hold a faculty position at the University of California at Santa Barbara as a Lecturer with Continuing Appointment in the combined doctoral program in Clinical, Counseling and School Psychology.
Prior academic service includes appointment as Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences at the University of Southern California School of Medicine where I was the lead Research Psychologist in the Anxiety Disorders Clinic and service on the editorial board of the Anxiety Disorders Practice Journal. My research, grants and publications are in anxiety disorders, personality factors and psychological assessment. I have held the position of District Office Supervisor for the State Department of Mental Health for the Central Region of Los Angeles, Chief Psychologist of the Rehabilitation Institute of Santa Barbara and Staff Psychologist/Inpatient Coordinator at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. I am a member of the Department of Psychiatry at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and previously served as Co-Chair of the Ethics Committee. I was fortunate to hold office as President of the Santa Barbara County Psychological Association and serve as board member for several years as the Co-Chair of the Ethics Committee.
