Bio
Robert Zwang is a Social entrepreneur, Founder and CEO of Israel-Palestine Cooperative for Economic Expansion, Inc (IPCEE), a 501(C)(3), non-profit organization, which encourages peaceful cooperation and pragmatic collaboration between between individuals and institutions.
IPCEE's primary focus encourages social and economic development and cross-border relationships with Israelis, and Palestinians living in the West Bank.
A shortage of physicians and nurses in Israeli hospitals, coupled with the financial burden imposed from treating West Bank patients, presents a
unique and mutually beneficial opportunity to help develop medical independence for the Palestinian Authority from the State of Israel.
As a cornerstone of our activities, IPCEE has agreed to help build medical capacity in select West Bank hospitals, in part, through funding fellowships for Palestinian physicians in Israeli hospitals. Once the fellowships are completed, the Palestinian physicians are committed to returning to specific hospitals in the West Bank to strengthen local medical capacity.
While physical barriers obstruct individuals, institutions and societies that are divided in conflict from forming meaningful and trusting relationships, IPCEE helps to transform perceptions of an enemy from one of conflict and mutual distrust, into constructive engagement.
Mr. Zwang was previously CEO and Executive Director for the Jewish Federation in Western Connecticut for 19 years, directly accountable to the Board of Directors and Foundation Trustees. He was responsible for transmitting a relevant and compelling vision, conveyed with passion, that reflected the organization's priorities and goals. Mr. Zwang led an alliance of individuals and organizations whose support and compassion contributed to successful fundraising and advancing community life. He promoted a culture of innovation and creativity as a means to educate and motivate individuals, enabling a close attachment to the organization and its mission.
