Bio
Hello my name is Sam Savage, I am from Bothell Washington. I have been playing sports my entire life whether it be skiing, wake boarding, baseball, basketball, or football. Ever since I was three years old I learned how to ski and wake board. Once I was four years old I began playing baseball, basketball, and football where I found my true passion in life. For the next nine years of playing these sports I moved into high school sports. I attended Inglemoor High school in 2012 and graduated in 2015. During my time in high school I participated in baseball, and football and was awarded "Athlete of The Year" by my peers of Ingle moor high school my senior year of high school. This was one of my most meaningful accomplishments of my sports career. I felt very honored especially the fact I was voted by my peers. After the football season ended in December I received a division one athletic full scholarship from Valparaiso University to play football. This was huge turning point in my life. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to be halfway across the country from my family because my family is everything to me and have been my biggest supporters. On the other hand, I had a once in a lifetime opportunity in front of me to play the sport I love and get a great education. I decided to accept the scholarship to play football for the crusaders, and enrolled at Valparaiso University. I ended up getting injured and decided it was best to move on from football and Valparaiso. I am currently an undergraduate student at Washington State University. I plan on majoring in sports journalism. I chose this major due to my passion and history tied amongst sports throughout my life. When I am not playing sports; I love watching, analyzing, debating, and breaking down athletics. The Purpose of making this blog is so I can share my athletic experiences as I grew, and the impact it had on my life. I hope this blog can be a way for people to relate my experiences to theirs. My overall goal after I graduate is to be a host on a sport’s talk show. I have a real affection debating sports, and listening to others opinion’s so I can better broaden my horizons. I find sport talk shows interesting due to the fact of how many sports you can talk about, never running out of topics to talk about. I want to do something I love as my job, and talking sports is what I love to do. I am grateful for everything athletics has brought to my life, having played a very important role in my growth as an athlete and as a man.
