Bio
My name is Sam, I am 31 years old, I am married and have a Chihuahua as a pet. I have been a Personal Trainer for 10 years now .
Likes & Dislikes
My likes: online gaming, feeling good about myself, being in the company of family/ friends, food and CARS!
My dislikes: cheesy quotes from fitness pros, people who drive in the middle lane of the motorway, feeling chubby and de-motivated (this does happen)
My Journey until now
After I left university where I was studying Applied Biology I had no idea what I wanted to do. All I knew was I loved the idea of working with people but anymore than that, I was totally clueless. I took a job as a Security Guard where the Top Gear studio was. I actually really enjoyed my time there but I was working MANY night shifts and it played havoc with my health. Then after 2 years I FINALLY decided that Personal Training was for me. Not only would I get to spend time with people but also extend my earlier Biology studies about the human body - 'awesome'.
So, this was it. I qualified as a fitness instructor and was given the opportunity to work in a gym to gain some experience. During this time I also worked as a labourer on the roads for a few months until I FINALLY landed a full time job as a PT. From that point, my career was on the way up. I was quickly promoted to Manager of a Gym which, over the following few years, I loved. However, I decided I wanted the benefits of being self employed which would have no limits. So here I am today, self-employed, as fired up as ever.
Where do I see my future?
My one single goal of running this business is to open a chain of gyms which provides people with value and quality as well as support and interaction with experts when they need it. It’s not ALL about training but having a chat with someone who really cares, over maybe a cup coffee. Like my current business, I expect results. I would not take payment from a client if I did not think they were capable of the goals that are set. I will carry this principle with me always. I WILL drive change in this industry, be it on a small or large scale!
