Bio
Securing the City is a project that I hope will allow me to explore new ideas to make the city, the locus of our everday life, a place that actively produces human security, as defined by the United Nations.
I am beginning a MSc program in Globalization at University College London in September 2011. My research interests are an intersection between critical theory, poststructuralism, and political economy. Currently, I live in El Dorado Hills, CA, a suburb in the greater Sacramento metropolitan area. I hope to critically comment on my hometown as well as the places I travel to highlight new possibilities and approaches to (sub)urban living.
This blog will explore new, creative ideas for our everyday lives to make sure that we live in dignified places that keep us free from fear, deprivation, and exploitation.
