Bio
I am starting this blog for two reasons. Reason number one- I am a first year PhD student working towards a Clinical Psychology degree and part of this program is to begin a blog that can implement social change. The second reason is just that; it's a plan, or at least a hope that we will begin to notice how women are underestimated in domestic violence situations and how bringing those actions they engage in to light can get them the help and treatment they need to be a part of a healthy relationship. Additionally, it seems equally important to recognize that men are victims of domestic violence also. Society appears to play a huge role in excusing womens aggressive behaviors in intimate relationships and magnifying the consensus that all men commit domestic violence due to patriarchal roles. #menmatter #treatmentforfemaleaggressors.
