Bio
I am a home sewer from way back starting as a third grade 4-H'er. I churned out some pretty homemade looking garments and struggled with terminology, pattern instructions and matching style, fabric and fit. Maybe it soothes my inner masochist or I just love the feel of fabric zooming under the sewing machine needle, but inexplicably I have kept at it for around 32 years since my first project. Most of us judge our finished garment by how closely it resembles store-bought. Over the years I have learnt a lot, and I am still learning, how to create clothing that is both acceptably finished and stylish. This is a journal of my own adventures in sewing and I hope it inspires other beginning and intermediate sewers in their own path towards sewista success!
