Bio
I'm a guy in my early 30s who feels the need to get writing again. My interests are wide and varied, but particularly interested in Jesus, people, friendships, life, theology, politics (not too militant), economics, society, community, travel, maps, social justice, the bigger picture.
I also love music, gigs, festivals, playing the drums (need to pick up my sticks again after a 5 year break), dancing to old school US house music, listening to amazing solo artists, indie, breakbeat, JAZZ, funk, jazz-funk, and latin rhythms.
I also love comedy, particulary Bill Bailey, Peter Kay, Jack Dee, Flight of the Conchords.
I love being outdoors, hiking, walking, running, exploring, swimming in seas in the med, Indian Ocean, Pacific Ocean, Lake Garda, rivers- well, anywhere. And Scuba Diving, snorkelling, swimming with Giant Turtles in Malaysia.
I love food- any food! Particularly amazing flavour combinations, home cooked local foods, discovering new dishes before anyone else, and cooking meals for my friends.
And of course there's my love for Iceland. I love Europe, Asia, South Africa, Australia as well, but Iceland is that special place for me, with its rugged remote beauty, incredible sunsets that turn the volcanic rock orange, bizarre moonscapes, stunning waterfalls, northern lights, hot-tubs, amazing people, deep spirituality and the most inspiring, creative music anywhere. Without comparison.
I'm currently on a phase of my journey which is leading me to write. I have so much in my head which needs to be let out, either in speech or in text. Thoughts ranging from reflective musings, to deep theological reasoning to silly, mundane things which make me laugh.
