How I Met Design
Hello my name is Stephen Marek. I am originally from Manhattan, NY. I was raised in Upstate New York in a small town called Northwestern. I started my arts and crafts business, smmerchandising, in 2006 by doing projects for family and friends. I first came to Arizona in 1994 and lived here until 1999. I had to go back to New York because doctors didn’t know how long my father would live; my father died in 2010. I finally went back to Arizona because this is the place that I always wanted to be. I decided that I wanted to learn graphic design, so I enrolled in Brown Mackie College for an associate’s degree. When I was almost finished at Brown Mackie I transferred to the Art Institute of Tucson to finish up with my bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design and Web Design. I have added a great deal of merchandise to my business since I started the firm, and it has evolved into an arts and crafts and graphic design firm.
