Bio
I took vocal performance at Humber College for 3 years, prior to that private vocal lessons with an amazing, eccentric coach in Toronto. Along with my studies, I was gaining performance experience singing back-up (and some lead) in a Bruce Springsteen cover band("Thunder Road"), singing in a wedding band ("Two Hearts") at the same time. That ended and I went on to sing with a pop/folk outfit in Toronto ("49 Acres") where I gained more experience in some of the clubs around town (Lee's Palace, Cabana Room). I've written some songs over the years that I am quite proud of and recently entered one in CBC's "Searchlight" competition. I was also one of the featured songwriters for the finale of Humber Songstudio at Hugh's Room with the incomparable Rik Emmet backing me up on guitar. As I still have a passion to use my voice creatively, I'm embarking on a voice over career, and was hired for my first voicing gig late last year as a Cockney "Char woman' for a digital version of 'A Christmas Carol'. I recently completed my animation/commercial voice demos with TA DA Studios, again in Toronto and am now seeking representation. Having written four of the monologues that were featured on my animation demo, I became excited about the creative process writing brings so have also just completed my first children's story "Basil...The Wandering Beagle" and have started a second, "Penelope Pendlebury is a 'fraidy Cat". I look forward to working independently and/or as part of a team in a wonderfully creative capacity. I am beginning a new program: advertising copywriting at Humber College, fall 2020.
