Jacquelyn's quotes are becoming increasingly popular around the globe so this website was prepared to bring these inspiring quotes to you easily. This is not an exhaustive collection of the Split-Second Sermons, but those chosen by Jacquelyn to minister to you!
A MESSAGE FROM THE AUTHOR:
Hi! I would like to share with you how I began writing these Split-Second Sermons. It is an interesting story!
In 1981, I committed my life to the Lord. Immediately, I had an insatiable hunger for the Word of God, even though I had been in church regularly most of my life. I would stay up until 2 or 3 in the morning, just devouring the Word, most especially the Old Testament.
I learned very early in my Christian walk to meditate on the Word. Meditate can mean "to chew the cud." So when you are thinking upon the Word of God through the day, it is like a cow chewing the cud for hours after he bites off of the grasses. I truly believe this ability to meditate, chew on the Word, was what gave me insights that made the Word become alive!
One day, I just had some words bubbling up in my belly, "God's grace is so amazing, the unbelieve can't believe it!" Many started coming thereafter. I would listen to sermons, just think on the words of the preachers, and out of an entire sermon, I would come up with one line and began sharing them on emails to ministers and friends of mine. I saw how things circulated around emails so quickly and vastly, but realized that the long stories, though inspiring, were difficult for busy people to read. I then started sending out these one-liners and called them Pastor's Punch Lines.
A friend of mine, Pastor Niran Fafowra, was publishing a magazine in Los Angeles and asked if he could do a story on Pastor's Punch Lines. As he was writing the article, he had the idea of changing the name to Split-Second Sermons. I agreed that it was great. Hence, Split-Second Sermons was born!
Through the years I have written one-liners on napkins, small corners of paper, recorded on my cell phone, trying to retain them as best as I could before getting to a computer to type them up.
Less than a year ago, someone sent me a Facebook message, thanking me for the inspiring words in my Split-Second Sermon. I wrote him back, asking how he knew of them, as I did not know this person. He told me of the website he had found my quotes. I Googled and found the site and had no idea who this person was who had printed several of my quotes on his site.
One night I was unable to sleep and began thinking about this man's website. I wondered, if this guy got some of my one-liners, I wonder if their are any others? I got up and typed my name in the search engine, to find many websites around the world, many in foreign languages, being used in all types of ministries and foundations. It was exciting and scary!
I have spent many hour on the web looking at these sites, not able to link one person to anyone whom I know. That is the power of the internet. So, I want to use this positively and in a way that can be a blessing to peoples all over the world.
I am not small-minded enough to think that I am smart enough to come up with these powerful one-liners! I know they are God-inspired. I give all the glory and honor to him and am humbled that He can take a vessel as myself and use it for His Kingdom.
You are welcome to use these in any manner, as long as you keep my name with the quote. Of course, you must have written permission from me to use them for profit, so they cannot be sold without my consent. I trust you will honor this request.
God bless you and yours always,
Jacquelyn K Heasley
