Bio
Hello! My name is Tracy McKenzie; I am many of things which make me, me. I am a daughter, a sister, a friend, an aunt, a student, a professional businesswoman, a wife, and a mother. All in which, I am proud to be.
I was born and raised in a small town outside of Worcester, MA, where everyone knows one another. I grew up in a large Catholic family. I have eight older siblings, five brothers, and three sisters. The age gap between my oldest sibling and myself is 18 years. I am considered the baby in the family. My family dynamics are unique. Five of my siblings have a different mother; two others have a different father and the remaining sibling, we have the same parents. I have two nieces, ten nephews and four handsome great nephews who I cherish. Unfortunately, we all didn’t grow up in the same household, only four of us lived together, which was hard getting to know the others. Holidays were a time for bonding and a special time for all of us. Still today, the holidays are my favorite which brings all of us closer.
As a student, my academic journey started in 1995, I attend Hesser College a private school in Manchester, New Hampshire. I studied business but after the first semester, I felt it wasn’t the best fit for me. Shortly after leaving Hesser, I transfer to Quinsigamond Community College, a local college in Worcester studied Business Administration. In 1997, I earned an associate degree in Business. After graduation, I took several years off and worked in various jobs, but decided to go back to school to further my education and get a bachelor’s degree. In 2004, I registered at Worcester State University as a part-time transfer business student with a concentration in business and accounting. I am currently a senior at WSU, I expect to graduate in 2020 if all goes to plan with a major in Liberal Studies with a concentration in business and photography.
I have been fortunate enough to earn a position as an associate accountant at The Key Program in Framingham, a non-profit organization that works with parents and at-risk youths. I strongly believe in the work Key Program is involved in, their dedication to helping families in need. My experience as an associate accountant involves me being very detail-oriented. Some of my duties include day-to-day functions of payroll (collect and input payroll data), verifying payroll reports, data entering, general ledger, budgets, expense reporting, billing to state contracts, and accounts payables.
I have a loving and supportive husband whom I have been lucky to be married to for 15 years. We have two children: a 14-year-old daughter and a 10-year-old son. The love and support they have given me throughout this journey have helped me be the person I am today and for that, I owe them a thank you.
In my spare time, I enjoy crafts, volunteering, going to the beach, family vacation, and watching my children take part in various sports. My passion is capturing all things around me in photography, especially of my family. I love to see them grow and capture the memories within a photograph. I feel the memories from a photograph are priceless. I also enjoy taking action shots of my children when they play sports, especially football. I have been the “team photographer” for the past three years. Unfortunately, I am an amateur at taking pictures, and I am eager to learn the art of photography in my studies at Worcester State University.
