First Woman Attempts Solo Kayak Crossing From Cuba To USA
In light of the new advancements in the Cuba and USA relations, Teresa Teresa plans to be the first person/woman to Kayak solo from Cuba to USA. Once she lands on Key West, Ms. Diehl will present to school children using her expedition as a demonstration of what one can accomplish by setting goals. She will speak with underprivileged children to inspire them to create and achieve their dreams.
She anticipates a lot of publicity for this journey. Teresa states, “I plan to utilize this media coverage to bring attention to the need to encourage children to create goals and learn how to achieve them.” She plans to use current interest in the new Cuba and USA relations to bring the much needed attention to her program to inspire underprivileged children in the USA. “My experience in education has shown a great lack of encouragement for students to complete their schooling and prepare for further education and university attendance. I use my kayaking expeditions to show what planning can do which inspires the children.”
Teresa Diehl must launch this expedition within the next two weeks for maximum exposure.
Teresa has flown to Florida where she has started training in the kayak and location for the expedition. Additionally, she will take this time to camp on each island in the Keys and personally present to school staff her request to speak with their students. Teresa will also familiarize herself with the area, currents, and weather conditions drawing on as much local knowledge as possible. She has retained the critical crew members from the successful swim crossing of Diana Nyad. They are already calculating weather trends and reviewing their notes from the previous endeavor.
Teresa has set up a GoFundMe.com account, www.gofundme.com/TeresaDiehl, to collect funds needed to successfully complete her expedition. This will show the children she speaks with what they can achieve with setting goals. To contribute a tax-deductible donation go to PlatypusYank.com.
Please help her reach as many people as possible utilizing this great change in Cuba and the USA relations. The more attention on the expedition, the more attention can be given to the children who need inspiration and knowledge to fulfill their potential.
Teresa Diehl has been speaking with children to help them set goals to accomplish more than they ever dreamed of. She has been speaking and kayaking in Australia with great success in Western Australia and Queensland, spending six weeks in the Aboriginal Community of Yarrabah, Queensland. Teresa is part of the Social Good Fund ‘Working to cultivate and establish positive influences for individuals, communities, and the environment”.
