Bio
Started in the IT field in 1977. Had quite a few fun jobs line Cobol programmer, system programmer for MVS/CMS/CICS/NCP/VTAM on the mainframe then switched over to smaller computers and databases. I started working with Oracle databases in 1989 and picked up MySQL a few years ago.
I have been working in the SAN and Flash memory areas for the past 9 years. During this time, I worked for LSI and now Seagate performing benchmarks and creating reference architectures involving Linux, SAN, and Flash capabilities to these databases.
During the last year, I have also got involved with Openstack and Software Defined Storage (SDS) Ceph. We at Seagate have been developing hardware and software to increase performance of a Ceph cluster.
When i'm not working, i'm out in my backyard waterskiing thru the slalom course.
