Bio
Terri O'Sullivan is a multifaceted professional who utilizes all of her skills gleaned from two of the great service oriented professions--Nursing and Social Work. This has resulted in the creation of The Mobile Center 4 CPR which is precisely as the name states--a mobile service that teaches and provides certifications to healthcare providers and concerned community members with The American Heart Association (AHA) courses: Heartsaver, First Aid with AED, Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), ECG and Pharmacology, with other courses under construction to customize to the client's needs.
Terri obtained a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Binghamton University and started her career as a Child Protective Specialist at the Administration for Children's Services (ACS). While working full time she obtained dual Master degrees in both Social Work and Management from New York University: Silver School of Social Work, and Robert Wagner School of Public Service respectively. She eventually obtained her Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and briefly went on to do Hospital Social work, where her burgeoning inspiration to pursue a career in nursing was concretized.
She transitioned to nursing by obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Pace University and earning two scholarships: Pace's Switzer Foundation scholarship due to her academic excellence and later a full scholarship from HHC to train as a critical care nurse in an underserved community. She later obtained her (Critical Care Registered Nurse) CCRN certification.
Terri is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society (STTI) for nursing and successfully completed the STTI Honor Society Nurse Management Online Certificate Program where she now practices in the field of nurse management. She is also a certified AHA instructor for both BLS and ACLS.
Terri is dedicated to making learning meaningful and engaging in order to inspire the innate calling to be of service and to sustain life. She has always been committed to this belief Which contributed to her co-founding a women's group called WETA (Women Empowered To Act) while at ACS. This belief has further contributed to Terri's travels to study the Social Service culture of Puerto Rico, explore women's health/ HIV epidemic in South Africa and volunteer her skills at a Medical mission to Addis Abbaba, Ethiopia. The distillation of Terri's background is the foundation for The Mobile Center 4 CPR.
