Bio
I started this blog to discuss some of my favorite books. My favorite genres are mystery, historical fiction, history, and, especially Victorian and Edwardian novels. However, my PhD is in Library Science with a concentration on children’s literature. My dissertation concerned the fantasy novels of that great Edwardian writer E. Nesbit, who, unfortunately, is known better in England than in the U.S. I served for three years on ALA committees, including the Best Fiction for Young Adults. Lots of supernatural, high fantasy, and young people with issues.
I have three beautiful wire-haired fox terriers, Emma, Mr. Darcy, and Austen. As far as I’m concerned, a wire is all there is, the rest are just dogs.
I teach dual credit English composition and literature at Tarrant County College and composition at University of Texas at Arlington.
