Bio
I am certainly a fella with a mo! A horseshoe moustache to be precise. It all started as a Movember fund raising activity back in 2013, but I liked it so much that it has become a permanent fixture on my face!
There is obviously more to me than just the mo. I am a IT Project Manager with specialisation in complex systems integration projects. If you are not from IT then it basically means having the responsibility for bringing together multiple disparate software and hardware systems to create a end-to-end customer offering.
Irrespective of what I do, one thing I probably do have in common with a vast majority of the population is that I am busy for most part of the day, in my case doing my full time job and balancing it with my personal life. Like many, I too get excited with the idea of generating an additional income without compromising on my current income stream. And like many, I don’t have any spare time or a lot of money to do anything about it. My mofella.com website is an attempt to change that, not just for me, but for many others who are in the same boat. It is my honest attempt at eCommerce while maintaining the general constraints on time and money and sharing my learnings with everyone.
I absolutely enjoy my day job and it does more for me than just pay my bills. It provides me with the intellectual stimulation and the company of some of the brightest people around. I am not looking to trade that with the prospect of a passive income, which I would guess is also not a consideration that is exclusive to me. The trick will therefore need to be to find the right recipe for generating an additional source of income on a part-time basis, without loosing all the good things that my day job provides.
My work life has required me to learn several skills, some of these will be of direct relevance to starting an online business. Some skills may not be directly related, but will in turn bring a new perspective to an online business. I intend to apply my own experience into this intiative and share the outcomes with you as I go, not just my successes, but failures too. I call this “open commerce”.
